On Saturday, China"s Cao Maoyuan secured the first gold medal at the 31st FISU World University Games by winning the Men"s Nanquan Wushu tournament.

The Wushu competition in the Universiade includes various events like Nanquan, Changquan, Taijiquan, Gunshu, Daoshu, Taijijian, Jianshu, Qiangshu, Nandao, and Sanda.

China has sent a team of eight athletes to compete in the Wushu events, which will continue until August 3.
